Plagiarism Policy

The International Journal of Special and General Education (IJSGE) maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism and unethical academic conduct.

1. Plagiarism Check

  • All submissions are screened using reliable plagiarism detection tools.

  • A plagiarism similarity index of more than 15–20% (excluding references) may lead to rejection.

2. Types of Plagiarism Considered Unacceptable

  • Copying others’ work without proper citation

  • Self-plagiarism or duplicate publication

  • Republishing previously published findings as new

  • Paraphrasing too closely without attribution

  • Using others’ data or ideas without acknowledgment

3. Actions for Plagiarism

If plagiarism is detected:

  • The author may be asked to revise and resubmit (minor overlap)

  • The manuscript may be rejected (major overlap)

  • For published articles, the journal may issue:

    • Retraction

    • Removal from the journal website

    • Notification to the author’s institution

4. Author Responsibility

  • Authors must ensure their manuscript is original and properly cited.

  • All co-authors share equal responsibility for the integrity of the work.
