Withdrawal Policy

The International Journal of Special and General Education (IJSGE) has established the following Withdrawal Policy to ensure transparency and fairness in managing manuscript withdrawals.

1. Withdrawal Before Peer Review

  • Authors may request withdrawal of their manuscript before it enters the peer-review process.

  • A written request must be submitted to the editorial office.

  • If any processing fee has been paid, a partial refund may be issued after deducting administrative charges (as per the Refund Policy).

2. Withdrawal During Peer Review

  • Once a manuscript has been sent for peer review, withdrawal is strongly discouraged.

  • If authors still wish to withdraw, they must provide a valid reason in writing.

  • Withdrawal at this stage may result in:

    • No refund of processing charges

    • A possible withdrawal penalty to compensate for reviewer and editorial efforts

3. Withdrawal After Acceptance

  • Manuscript withdrawal after acceptance is considered unethical, as significant editorial and review work has already been completed.

  • Withdrawals at this stage will:

    • Not qualify for any refund

    • Result in a formal withdrawal notice added to the journal’s records

    • Potentially lead to a submission ban for authors involved

4. Withdrawal After Publication

  • Once an article is published online or in print, it cannot be withdrawn.

  • If serious ethical issues are identified (e.g., plagiarism, data fabrication), the journal will follow COPE guidelines and may issue:

    • A retraction notice

    • A replacement article if necessary

    • Notification to the author’s institution

5. Editorial Rights

  • The journal reserves the right to withdraw a manuscript at any stage if:

    • Ethical misconduct is detected

    • The authors fail to respond to communication for an extended period

    • Required corrections are not provided within the given timeframe

6. Request Procedure

  • All withdrawal requests must be emailed to the editorial office with:

    • Manuscript title

    • Author names

    • Manuscript ID

    • Clear reason for withdrawal

  • Confirmation will be provided once the withdrawal is processed.
