The International Journal of Special and General Education (IJSGE) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and integrity. The journal follows guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to ensure fairness, transparency, and accountability in all aspects of the publication process. All stakeholders—authors, editors, reviewers, and publishers—are expected to adhere to the following ethical principles:
1. Responsibilities of Authors
-
Authors must ensure that their submissions are original, accurate, and free from plagiarism or duplicate publication.
-
All sources used in the research must be properly cited and acknowledged.
-
Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest that may influence the research.
-
Data and findings should be reported honestly, without fabrication, falsification, or inappropriate manipulation.
-
All listed authors must have made a significant contribution to the study and approved the final manuscript.
-
Authors must promptly notify the editorial office if errors are discovered after publication.
2. Responsibilities of Reviewers
-
Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts objectively, confidentially, and within the given timeframe.
-
Personal criticism of authors is not permitted; feedback must be professional and constructive.
-
Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest or situations that could bias their evaluation.
-
Reviewers should not use unpublished material from submissions for personal advantage.
3. Responsibilities of Editors
-
Editors are responsible for making publication decisions based on academic merit, originality, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
-
Editorial decisions must not be influenced by personal bias, institutional affiliation, or commercial interests.
-
Editors must maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and ensure a fair, unbiased peer-review process.
-
Suspected cases of misconduct—such as plagiarism, falsification, or unethical research practices—will be investigated and managed following COPE guidelines.
4. Ethical Research Practices
-
Studies involving human participants, including minors or individuals with special needs, must follow recognized ethical standards.
-
Authors must provide evidence of institutional ethics approval when applicable.
-
Consent and confidentiality must be respected at all stages of research and publication.
5. Handling of Ethical Misconduct

The journal will take necessary actions in cases of ethical violations, which may include manuscript correction, retraction, temporary submission bans, or reporting misconduct to the relevant authorities or institutions.
-
IJSGE is committed to correcting the academic record whenever inaccuracies or ethical breaches are identified.
